Westchester In Ground Swimming Pool Design

A simple inground swimming pool project that I designed and installed at a Westchester residence. I used natural stone for the patio and pool coping. The darker pool water color and rock details help to naturalize the setting. The planting has just been installed. Next season the plants will grow in lush and will transform the space.

A patio and deck design in Westchester

A Westchester backyard patio and deck design. The deck features mahogany and iron rails. I used bluestone slabs to create the steps down to the granite patio. Concrete walls create planting areas and also double as a seating wall.  Iron railings on the steps compliment the deck rails. The plantings have been in for one season and are just begining to soften the stone work.

Master Landscape Plan for a Rockland County Home

A landscape plan that I designed for some clients residing in Rockland County, NY.  The site is a small compound consisting of several cottages and one main residence. A Stuctured Landscape Under Construction

A northern NJ back yard landscape architecture design in progress. I terraced the back yard, separating the spaces with stone walls and garden steps. The geometric design and pillars flanking the garden steps gives the design some formality. I placed some random flagstone at the lower terrace. This area will be lawn. Once the stone walls are capped the planting phase will begin.

Lap Pool and Landscape Concept Plan

A lap pool and landscape concept plan that I just completed for a client in Pennsylvania. This is the first draft I came up. My client provided me with a wish list and several photos that she found inspiring. To warm the house and make it pop I am proposing some dark trim, stone veneering the fire place and adding a unique porch constructed with rustic beams, natural stone and a metal roof.

The gardens have been separated into several outdoor rooms and seating areas. Structure has been created with a weathered brick lawn border.

The lap pool doubles as a decorative water feature with a very subtle spillway at the far end.  The decorative shed at the far side of the pool hides the pool equipment and also provides some architectural interest in the garden.

The plantings are simple but very lush. The fencing picks up on the proposed trim work from the house and porch.

This has been an enjoyable design project and I hope I get to build it.
